Linda Toombs | an Arrowhead Gallery Artist
Welcome to my world of art, I am Linda Toombs.
I am a fine arts painter located in beautiful Southwest Utah. My work focuses on Realism that invites you into my painting with your eyes, mind, and heart. I use oil paints to create a place where you can take a breath and remember the beauty of our existence.
I have worked to develop my painting to better capture the emotions invoked in myself from the inspirational landscapes and various subjects. This allows me to place these emotions into the artwork itself.
A blank canvas gives me a sense of endless possibilities. The worlds I can create, a moment caught forever in time, emotions that can bring to life a sense of calm or place where only dreams can live. The progress of a painting is like life itself. With each layer added, a new dimension is created, layers of life built upon each other to create something unique. With a paintbrush in hand, surrounded by a multitude of colors and a canvas waiting to come alive, that is when I feel the most whole.
At a young age, the beautiful works of art at The Huntington Library in California served to increase my love and passion for art. Standing as close as possible, I would study brush strokes, the stunning colors, and compositions. I felt my soul come alive and grateful I could spend time with these masters.
My art has been exhibited in numerous art exhibits and has been featured in two published books as well chosen by Sierra Club for the Mother’s Day Postcard art collection.
