Hi, I’m William and I am an artist who has been painting off and on all of my life. I have been motivated to create art all of my life. I tend to be a person who takes an interest in interesting visual details all around me. So many times I try and capture some of that imagery around me by either photograph or painting. I have been drawing, painting and creating art since I was a little dude. I had many of years where I turned my art into a graphic design business. I also had many years where life just got in the way of doing what I ultimately loved to do the most, which is painting with oils. Ive tried other mediums, Acrylics, Colored Pencils, Watercolor, but seem to always love working with oils the best. So in the last few years I’ve recently went back to painting with oils which is my first passion.

I lived in Thousand Oaks, California most of my life and then in 2010 moved to Las Vegas and painted as much as possible when I was there. I recently moved to Washington, Utah. I would say that my paintings reflect my love of traditional art and painting realistic images. I’ve recently been developing more of a Surrealistic style to my work, and am always trying to find interesting subject matter and composition that fits my personal style. The most interesting aspect of painting is how to manipulate the paint and color to reflect the light and shadows, which makes the subject come to life. So most of my work is somewhat tight brush strokes and laying down lots of details within lights and shadows trying to make the subject matter look somewhat realistic. My website: www.billydarling.com
