Cheryl Sachse | an Arrowhead Gallery Artist

Born in Price, Utah where her career path took her many places that formed allies and lifelong friendships that were nurtured from living abroad in her teen years and growing up with a mother who was a staunch supporter of the arts.  Her mother was an artist and instilled the beauty of visual and performing arts in her children from a very young age.

Cheryl’s career path was in Human Resources where she worked with different personalities, cultures, thinking, religions, philosophies, and understanding of viewing life through many perspectives.  She earned a master’s degree in Human Resources from Utah State University and studied abroad in multiculturism as part of the master’s program.  Throughout her career she taught classes in management and art.  She retired eight years ago and rediscovered her passion for art.

For years, she dabbled in acrylic and oil painting, stained glass, pottery, and took a few classes from artists from around the globe and found that watercolor was her favorite medium.  She began showing her art professionally about 10 years ago which took her art to a whole new level.  More recently, she illustrated a children’s book entitled “Mooseberry, Mooseberry, Gooseberry Pie,” which was released in 2018, and had a second book entitled “What Hides Inside” published that she wrote and illustrated.  It was released the first part of 2023.  Cheryl’s art is currently on exhibit at Gallery 35 in St. George, Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery in Mesquite, NV and in Gallery 873 in Ivans, Utah.  Her art is also currently on a traveling show through the Ut Div of Museums and Art.  Her work has found homes in seven different countries and over 30 states. She is very fortunate to have her art studio next to her home where she works daily in refining her technique and learning new methods of expression.

Cheryl is a member of the Dixie Watercolor Society (DWS), Southern Utah Art Guild (SUAG), Z-Arts, Utah Watercolor Society (UWS), Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society, Women Out West (WOW), National Watercolor Society (NWS), the Virgin Valley Art Association (VVAA) and Arts to Zions.
