Deann Rex-Free | an Arrowhead Gallery Artist

My inspiration is drawn from all the amazing wonders and the incredible beauties of this world. My heart pounds and my eyes are astounded as I truly enjoy all the beautiful things provided on this earth. I look for beauty around every comer, in the pose of a person, the sway of a tree, the colors of nature, someone’s eyes, the innocence and beauty of a child; all the many nuances of color and form. So much inspiration is gathered from traveling both near and abroad. I have a love of traveling. I have studied with many re known artists and I have grown by studying the works of both the old and new Masters in the US and in Europe. Painting is such a pleasure and I love to study good and greatworks of art at every opportunity. Sharing my passion and my work with others makeslife so enjoyable!

My First big award was the Best of Show at the Salt Lake City All High SchoolCompetition. Many Best of Show and First Place awards followed, including First PlaceOil at the Salt Palace Centennial Show. First Place Watercolor at an annual Art in thePark Show in St. George, First Place Watercolor at an annual Invitational Regional Showat the St. George Art Museum. I have received several First Place oil ribbons in St George Art in the Park. Studying in Paris, France was “A dream come true.” Paintingas well as studying beautiful art is a passion. Fun times include tripping off to Europe to study the art and countryside. Trips to Catalina Island to see the Plein-air Painters of America. Carmel is a favorite place to admire and study beautiful art. Going to various Museums to catch Monet and Renoir, Degas, Marisot, and catching a Pino show in Jackson are highlights in my life. “So many paintings – so little time!”

If you have collected some of my art, I am so happy to share my passion with you.
